5 players of the U16 Girls Basketball Team and the team’s coach have been invited to the national team camp

Adana Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club (ABBSK), which achieved great success as the champion of Turkey, received invitations for 5 players of the U16 (under 16) Girls’ Basketball Team from the national team camp. In addition, the team’s coach Murat Kaya was included in the national team’s administrative and technical staff as an assistant coach. The team captain Berfin Ada Şahin had previously been invited to the U18 Girls’ Basketball National Team Camp, bringing great honor to Adana Metropolitan Municipality and Adana.

A letter signed by Dr. Serhan Antalyalı, the Secretary General of the Turkish Basketball Federation, addressed to Adana Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club stated: “Our U16 Girls’ National Team preparing for the 2024 U16 Girls’ European Championship will continue their training camp in Kocaeli from June 24 to 29, 2024. I kindly request the participation of your club’s athletes in the camp according to the following program, wishing success.”

The invitation letter included Adana Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club Coach Murat Kaya in the National Team Administrative Staff, while the athlete roster included Şevval Yalınkaya, Eylül Akdağ, Nisanur Tutar, Belinay Aybaba, and Simge Erol from Adana Metropolitan Municipality U16 Girls’ Basketball Team.

Mayor Zeydan Karalar of Adana Metropolitan Municipality, who has been instrumental in making Adana a sports city since his term at Seyhan Municipality, bringing children and young people together with sports in many branches through summer sports schools, hosting talented young athletes under Adana Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club and sending athletes to national teams, stated, “The success achieved by Adana Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club shows that we are on the right track. Our U16 Girls’ Basketball Team had become the champion of Turkey. We are proud of our athletes who have been invited to the U18 and U16 Girls’ Basketball National Teams. We will continue to do our best to bring our children and young people together with sports, develop athletes to contribute to city and national sports.”
