The play King Lear staged by the students of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University State Conservatory was broadcasted on TRT 2’s program Young Stage Backstage. Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University State Conservatory, Department of Performing Arts, Theatre Main Art Branch students staged William Shakespeare’s famous play ‘King Lear’, which was broadcasted on TRT 2’s ‘Young Stage Backstage’ program. The guest of this week’s Young Stage Backstage program, which aims to bring the plays of university theatre departments to the audience, was the play King Lear staged by the students of ZBEU State Conservatory Theatre Department. Directed by Hasan Anıl Sepetçi, instructor at ZBEU State Conservatory Theatre Main Art Branch, King Lear, performed at ZBEU Sezai Karakoç Cultural Center, attracted great attention with both acting and stage design, costume design, and theatre decor, receiving great acclaim. The Young Stage Backstage program aired on TRT 2 brought the section focusing on the text reading rehearsals and the process of staging the play King Lear by ZBEU State Conservatory students to the audience. ZBEU Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer expressed that they are achieving more success day by day in academic, cultural, sports, and artistic activities, signing remarkable works, and thanked the Department of Performing Arts and Theatre Main Art Branch academic and administrative staff who put great effort into staging the play King Lear, including ZBEU State Conservatory Director Assoc. Dr. İlker Kömürcü, and extended his thanks to the team involved in the play and to the TRT 2 Young Stage Backstage program staff who shared this excitement by bringing King Lear to the audience.
