Dermatologist Prof. Dr. Müge Güler Özden announced that new treatment options approved as ‘groundbreaking treatments’ by health authorities in America have shown very successful results for patients with ‘severe allergic eczema’ and are being applied to suitable patients at Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMÜ). The 6th Black Sea Symposium on Innovations in Dermatology was held in Samsun. It was emphasized that the treatment of psoriasis as well as allergic eczema can be done at OMÜ in Turkey on the 2nd day of the symposium chaired by Prof. Dr. Müge Güler Özden from the Department of Dermatology at OMÜ. Prof. Dr. Özden stated that each of the more than 100 physicians presented in their field of expertise at the symposium. ‘Groundbreaking treatments for severe allergic eczema can now be performed at our university.’ Prof. Dr. Müge Güler Özden, who made explanations about new treatment methods, said, ‘We are holding the 6th Black Sea Symposium on Innovations in Dermatology this year. Over 100 physicians from our country and more than 50 speakers gathered in Samsun to discuss innovations in dermatology and cosmetology. This year, as in previous years, not only innovations in the treatment of psoriasis but also great innovations in the treatment of ‘atopic dermatitis’ disease known as allergic eczema are being shared. This new treatment option approved by American health authorities with an emphasis on groundbreaking treatments is now available in our country as well. I recommend patients with severe allergic eczema to apply to our OMÜ Hospital and get information about these treatments. In the symposium, innovations, new approaches, and new application techniques in cosmetic dermatology are also being discussed.’ On the 2nd day of the symposium, presentations were made on nail biopsy techniques, flap techniques, hidradenitis suppurativa treatment, psoriasis and child psoriasis treatment, androgenetic alopecia treatment, areas of laser use, non-cosmetic indications of botulinum toxin, biostimulant fillers, approach to urticaria patients, the role of allergy tests, current developments in HPV vaccines, alternative treatments for nail diseases, acne-demodex-rosacea treatment, cosmetic care recommendations, lip filler application techniques, and non-surgical fat burning techniques.
