Experts warned about the purpose served by artificial intelligence and how it is controlled

Turkey Technology Team Foundation Şırnak Provincial Responsible Rukiye Asan, who made statements about the use and reliability of artificial intelligence-supported applications that have started to be used in all areas of our lives, said that caution should be taken when using artificial intelligence. Providing information about the development, reliability, advantages, and disadvantages of artificial intelligence to the IHA reporter, Rukiye Asan, the Şırnak Provincial Responsible of T3 Turkey Technology Team Foundation, stated that although companies claim not to store data, it is worrisome that data is being recorded. Mentioning that everyone has an opinion about artificial intelligence, Asan stated, ‘We can define artificial intelligence as the technology that enables computers to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence. Currently, the brains of the computers we use are not working, so to speak, but today’s artificial intelligence seems determined to change this situation. In the 1950s, it was not initially intended. During those years, only word and text processing groups were working. In the 1980s, these studies gained momentum with the development of a neural network model, and in the 2000s, they accelerated. As artificial intelligence data sets grew, data processing began. As data processing began, products started to emerge. Initially, there was a product produced by Google, but it cannot be said that it fully met the desired need. Currently used applications such as OpenAI, ChatGPT are used for many purposes. Hundreds of applications are used daily, hundreds of applications are being developed. The two main sources of these applications making a difference in models are data and technological infrastructure. In artificial intelligence technology, the GPUs, which we call CPUs, are very important here. The countries and companies that produce more of these GPUs, in fact, produce most of the artificial intelligence products and models. Especially, there are artificial intelligence models used for sound and image.’
‘Artificial intelligence should not be forgotten as a technological product’ Pointing out that we use artificial intelligence with very pure emotions, Asan said, ‘One of the frequently asked questions is about its advantages and disadvantages. Like every technological product, it has both advantages and disadvantages. We can say the following for its advantages; why we use something, what purpose it will serve. Here, intention is actually very important. No matter what technological product it is, how we use it and why we use it are very important. If we pay attention to these, we can use it for its intended purpose. It is very important to convert these advantages into products. Where do we use the products we produce when using artificial intelligence-supported applications? They are used in our homes, smart home projects, the transportation vehicles we use, health areas, education, and corporately used areas. Personally, we can easily access and use them in all areas of our lives. Students do their homework with artificial intelligence-supported programs. We can list many advantages in this way. Just like it has advantages, it also has disadvantages, there are quite risky areas, we have concerns about security. What data is being collected, how is it being collected, are they being collected more as we write, are they being stored? Although it is claimed that these data are not stored, the recording of data is truly worrying. Unfortunately, we do not know what is happening behind the scenes of this business, unfortunately, there is no open source. Another disadvantage is that misleading information from the user carries a great disadvantage. While we are currently using artificial intelligence with very pure emotions, we ask questions and get answers, but it is necessary to examine how accurate this information is. We should pay great attention to which country the products and applications we use are made by, what purpose they serve, and how they are controlled. It should not be forgotten that artificial intelligence is a technological product. We need to think that artificial intelligence is a software product and it responds based on the data it learns. When we put these advantages and disadvantages in front of us, I do not think there is a problem in using the product, but we should use it consciously. We must definitely know and research where and how we will use what. We will definitely get answers to every question, but we need to pay attention to it. We also need to pay attention to which country the product is made by and developed. Artificial intelligence is one of the topics that has been on the agenda recently and is curious by everyone. From NASA engineers to the grocers in our neighborhood, everyone has at least one idea about it. For some, it is considered to change our lives, for some, it is considered as the end of our lives. Just like it has advantages, artificial intelligence also has disadvantages. We use artificial intelligence consciously or unconsciously in all areas of our lives.
