The ‘Kemaliye International Culture and Nature Sports Festival’ organized in Kemaliye district of Erzincan has started. Known as the hidden paradise of the East, Kemaliye hosts the 45th Erzincan Kemaliye (Eğin) Culture and Nature Sports Festival. The festival, which took place between June 21 – June 23, 2024, created colorful scenes on its first day. Erzincan Governor Hamza Aydoğdu, in his speech at the opening of the 45th Erzincan Kemaliye (Eğin) International Culture and Nature Sports Festival, stated that within the scope of the festival to be held between June 21 – June 23, 2024, there will be various activities such as exhibition openings, trekking, workshops, canoe shows, conversations, choir and folklore performances, via ferrata climbing. Former Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and Prime Minister, President of the Council of Elders of Turkic States Organization, Binali Yıldırım, stated at the opening that this year’s 45th festival is a trademark event. Yıldırım pointed out that with the road investments made in the region, people can easily see both the festivals and the beauties of Kemaliye. He said, ‘Our first visit here was in 2004. As we passed by the road, we read all the prayers we knew to avoid falling off the cliff. Then I said our responsibility is very great. Every life lost here becomes our life. Therefore, we must revive these places. It is our duty to revive these roads. The geography is tough, there are mountains, deep valleys, dams, but we have an understanding, what is hard can be done immediately, what is impossible takes a little time. Therefore, we decided to build this corridor that connects the Black Sea to the Mediterranean, with a total tunnel length of 42 kilometers. Where there is no road, there is no life, no civilization. One without a past cannot have a future.’ In addition to Binali Yıldırım, the programs were attended by Erzincan Governor Hamza Aydoğdu, Rize Governor İhsan Selim Baydaş, Erzincan AK Party Deputy Süleyman Karaman, Erzincan Mayor Bekir Aksun, former AK Party Deputy Sebahattin Karakelle, provincial and district protocol, and citizens.
