In Hatay, which was hit by the earthquake, couples took advantage of the Feast of Sacrifice and created a rush for marriage procedures. A total of 150 couples got married throughout the city.

In Hatay, where the wounds of the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş were healed, couples took action to get married during the 9-day Feast of Sacrifice holiday. In the prefab container marriage office located in the Kışla Saray neighborhood of Antakya district in Hatay, 55 marriage contracts have been conducted since the first day of the Feast of Sacrifice holiday. Throughout the city affected by the earthquake, a total of 150 couples tied the knot during the holiday week, experiencing a double celebration.

Marriage officer Niyazi Yalçın, who expressed experiencing intensity at the marriage office during the holiday week, said, “Today we had 13 marriages. During the holiday week, we conducted a total of 55 marriages and we are continuing with more marriage procedures. During the holiday week, we conducted an average of 150 marriage procedures in İskenderun, Kırıkhan, and other districts. Couples who got married during the holiday week experienced a double celebration. May Allah bless the newlyweds.”

Groom Mehmet Tok, expressing the double happiness they felt for getting married, said, “It was a double celebration for us. It was very nice. One holiday ended, another began. We are currently experiencing double happiness. We are happy. This year we celebrated 3 holidays. With the wedding, we will celebrate the 4th holiday. These marriages are promising.”
