Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality continues its efforts without interruption for a greener and more livable Kayseri. In this context, greening activities with state-of-the-art equipment are being carried out in various parts of the city on a total area of 30,000 square meters. The landscaping works within the scope of environmental arrangements from spring to summer transition days in 2024, carried out by the Parks, Gardens and Afforestation Department Presidency of Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, include hydroseeding, which is a method of spraying a special formula mixture of spray, grass seed, fertilizer, and natural pigment materials, spring irrigation, soil leveling, afforestation, replacement and additions of urban amenities are rapidly continuing. Within the scope of landscaping works for new parks and median strips, hydroseeding by spraying method is carried out on intersections and median strips covering Talas Kertmeler region, Sümer Swimming Pool, Erkilet Erkovan Avenue, 15 July Boulevard, Talas military hospital street, and Fuzuli Junction Yakut neighborhood entrance, with a total of 30,000 square meters. Additionally, a total of 15,300 meters of pipe, 100 valves, 2,000 rotor sprinklers, 5,000 fittings materials, 1,500 meters of cable, and 1,000 cubic meters of topsoil were used for these areas. Moreover, in various parts of the city such as the airport entrance, Republic Square, and in front of Form AVM, modular pots and ports in the form of waterfalls, flower figures, towers, and spheres were reinstalled with 25,500 potted flowers. The Metropolitan Municipality, carrying out irrigation activities with a system consisting of pipes containing nozzles or heads that spray water onto the soil surface in the form of raindrops under a certain pressure, named as Rain Irrigation Method, can perform more economical and maximum efficiency irrigation through this method. The risk of seeds not germinating due to the top layer in grass seeding is eliminated, and irrigation is provided on sloping terrain without causing erosion. The hydroseeding spraying method preferred by the Metropolitan Municipality, with its covering, quickly unites eroded areas with grass and helps control erosion.
