HATAY (İHA) – Along with the disaster of the century, last year, the 14-kilometer-long beach in the Samandağ district of Hatay, which fell silent, experienced a similar intensity to the period before the earthquake due to the 9-day holiday and the hot weather. Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes caused great destruction in Hatay’s Samandağ district, where a silence was experienced on the 14-kilometer beach during the holidays last year. With the healing of the wounds of the earthquake and the return of the local people to their hometowns, there was intensity on the Samandağ beach, which has the longest coastline in Turkey, during the Eid al-Adha. In the region where the temperature rose above 40 degrees, citizens cooled off in the cool waters of the Mediterranean. The intensity experienced on the public beach was also captured from the air with a drone. Hatay Metropolitan Municipality is on alert against drowning incidents with lifeguards on duty at the Fire Department Directorate. ‘The only way to cool off in hot weather is to go into the sea’ Ahmet Kimyeci, who stated that they spent the holiday in the sea, said, ‘We came to our house on the beach for the holiday. We are spending the holiday here. The weather is hot but the sea is normal. It can be better or worse than this. The only way to cool off in hot weather is to go into the sea.
