The ‘great’ love of the little ones: metropolitan children’s library

Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality continues to host its young guests at the Fuat Attaroğlu Children’s Library and Music School, which was established for children to learn and have a pleasant time. Children enjoy their time in the library, while parents express their satisfaction with the library. Located on Bozantı Street in the Kocasinan district, the multi-purpose Metropolitan Municipality Fuat Attaroğlu Children’s Library and Music School offers various activities such as playgrounds, cafeteria, and cinema in addition to the library and music school, meeting the educational, informational, and personal development needs of children of all ages and various skills. This special project implemented by the Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç with the principle ‘Bend the tree while it is young’ is making a name for itself as a comprehensive library where children can read books, participate in various workshops such as games, music, and watch movies. Opened in April 2023, the Metropolitan Municipality Fuat Attaroğlu Children’s Library and Music School includes a reading room, fairy tale, cinema, game, music, painting workshops, outdoor play area, mini play area, computer room, cafeteria, group study rooms, male-female praying rooms, baby care room, cafeteria, and waiting lounge. While children participate in colorful activities at the Children’s Library, parents express their satisfaction with the library. A parent named Şerife Dalmaz, who expressed their love for the Metropolitan Municipality Children’s Library, said, ‘My child reads books, participates in all activities, and plays in the children’s park at the Children’s Library. This is a very safe place. We can leave our child here. We are very pleased. We love it very much. Our child can also do their homework in the computer room.’ Adem Sürücü said, ‘Libraries are a source of enlightenment. They are the cradle of knowledge. I am happy. It’s a great activity, a great work. The work done here is very beautiful. It is very logical to develop our children’s talents.’ Tuğçe Aydın also stated, ‘The children’s library has been a very good innovation for our Kayseri. Our children have fun, learn, and burn off their energy. It’s also a very good activity for us parents. Seeing our children having fun makes us very happy. We are very grateful to the authorities.’
