In Antalya, where hotels approached one hundred percent occupancy, municipal police intervened with people who couldn’t find a place to stay and ended up sleeping on the beaches and in the parks. Alanya Municipality municipal police, who intensified their routine inspections due to the holiday and did not tolerate some citizens choosing beaches and parks as places to stay, applied a total of 1,288 procedures throughout the Feast of Sacrifice.

So far, municipal police have carried out a total of 1,288 procedures in 8 categories, ranging from sidewalk occupation to begging, from unauthorized tents to inappropriate sleeping in parks and green areas. The procedures conducted by the Municipality Municipal Police between June 15-18 are as follows: Number of administrative fines imposed on vehicles occupying sidewalks: 87, number of administrative fines imposed on vehicles occupying bus stops: 17, number of administrative fines imposed on individuals consuming alcohol in parks and green areas: 11, number of administrative fines imposed on beggars: 17, number of tents removed due to unauthorized installation on beaches and green areas: 144, number of individuals whose tents were removed: 462, number of individuals whose inappropriate sleeping on grass and green areas led to removal: 398, and number of vehicles removed for inappropriate parking in public areas: 152.

Voluntary overtime by municipal police

On the other hand, while the irrigation of medians and green areas is carried out in a controlled manner, Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik stated in a statement before the holiday that the Municipal Police Department teams had requested to work voluntarily extra until the end of the holiday. The teams are completely on duty based on voluntary work for the peace and security of the citizens, while Alanya Municipality Municipal Police Director Naci Uzunsakal noted that they work tirelessly day and night to ensure that Alanya has a comfortable and peaceful holiday.
