President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is in Mugla for the Feast of Sacrifice, emphasized the situation in Gaza during his holiday speech with AK Party organizations, stating that ‘the world must take measures against Israel’s bloodthirstiness and immediately put an end to the massacres we witness every day.’ President Erdogan, who exchanged holiday greetings with AK Party organizations due to the Feast of Sacrifice, expressed his reaction to Israel’s attacks in Gaza during the meeting held via video conference, emphasizing the necessity for the world to say ‘Stop’ to Israel’s massacre. Erdogan, starting his speech by congratulating the Turkish nation on the Feast of Sacrifice, said, ‘We are observing our Feast of Sacrifice in a period where shameful massacres are taking place in the occupied Palestinian territories. The Palestinian people, who have been subjected to occupation, oppression, and systematic massacres for 76 years, are once again experiencing a holiday with bitterness. They spend it yearning for peace. The pain of our 38,000 brothers and sisters who were treacherously martyred by the genocidal Israeli government deeply affects the hearts of all of us as a nation and ummah. We are going through days that test not only our Muslim identity but also our humanity. Reacting to the massacre in Gaza is not only our duty of brotherhood but also our duty of humanity. The world must take immediate action against Israel’s bloodthirstiness and put an end to the massacres we witness every day.’
President Erdogan, who stated that they have decided to intervene in the genocide case opened against Israel at the International Court of Justice, emphasized, ‘I have been saying at every opportunity that it is necessary to stop the Netanyahu government, which sets the entire region on fire, in order to extend his political life, even including his own citizens. We reiterated our stance clearly to our interlocutors last week in Spain and during our visit to Italy on the occasion of the G-7 Leaders Summit. We are mobilizing all our resources to establish lasting peace in our region and hold the perpetrators of genocide accountable. We have decided to intervene in the genocide case opened against Israel at the International Court of Justice. We have completely halted our foreign trade transactions with this country to force the Israeli government into a permanent ceasefire. We continue our humanitarian aids uninterruptedly. We are the country that sends the most aid materials to Gaza. Our dialogue with the Palestinian government and Hamas continues strongly. We are making intense efforts for the Islamic world to act as a whole. We are working to increase the number of countries recognizing the state of Palestine. We are doing our best for the resistance of our Palestinian brothers and sisters, who defend their lands and pay heavy prices for their rights and freedoms, to achieve victory.’
President Erdogan, emphasizing that Turkey rushes to the aid of not only Gaza but all the oppressed, said, ‘Along with Gaza, we do not remain silent on the tragedies in other corners of the Islamic geography. Our contacts continue to end the fratricidal conflict in Sudan, which has been ongoing for more than a year. From Libya to Somalia, from Afghanistan to Yemen, wherever there is trouble, instability, tragedy, we rush to the aid of the oppressed without any discrimination. As members of a great state and nation, we will continue to stand firm, be the hand, voice, and cry of the oppressed in the future as well.’
