City cleaning will continue throughout the holiday in Mersin

Mersin Metropolitan Municipality announced that cleaning and spraying work will continue in 4 central districts during the Feast of Sacrifice. Mersin Metropolitan Municipality, which is on duty with all its units to provide fast and uninterrupted service to the citizens during the Feast of Sacrifice, carried out cleaning and spraying work in 4 central districts under the Directorate of Environmental Protection and Control. On the first day of the feast, starting from the center, the Metropolitan Municipality provided free services to citizens in slaughterhouses as well as mobile slaughter units for the sacrifice process, and after the completion of the slaughter process, carried out an intense hygiene work.
In this context, teams of the Directorate of Environmental Protection and Control in Akdeniz, Toroslar, Yenişehir, and Mezitli districts conducted a dedicated work to prevent environmental pollution, flies, pests, larvae, and other vector populations. Initially, the teams collected waste around the mobile slaughter unit and performed environmental cleaning with mobile vacuum vehicles. The teams washed the roads with pressurized water using a tanker, then completed spraying and disinfection work in garbage containers along with the mobile unit areas. Taking all necessary measures for public health, the teams made the slaughter points hygienic again for the citizens. Throughout the feast, the teams will remain on alert to ensure that citizens do not face any negative situations in the city.
“Our teams are ready and waiting to prevent any negative situation in the city” Cleaning Services Branch Manager Danyal Güngör, affiliated with the Directorate of Environmental Protection and Control, stated that they carried out intensive work at points where the Agricultural Services Directorate provides services for slaughter units. Güngör said, “To prevent any negativity for our citizens at the slaughter points and to avoid any pollution, we kept our teams ready in those areas. We first conducted a general cleaning in the area. Then we cleaned with our washing tanker and carried out spraying services. We provide uninterrupted service in our districts with 201 spraying personnel and 176 staff.”
Güngör mentioned that citizens can submit their requests via the ‘Teksin’ or ‘Alo 185’ hotline, stating, “When citizens reach us, we quickly resolve their problems.”
