Children who have to take a break from school receive education in hobby workshops

Children between the ages of 14-18 in Kocaeli who have had to pause their school life for various reasons are identified and provided with training in vocational and hobby workshops.

A waffle-coffee event was organized for students studying at Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality White Hearts and Development Center. The 10th event held in the garden of Izmit White Hearts Education and Development Center was attended by managers and staff. During the event, students demonstrated their skills by preparing coffee and waffles. Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality does not leave students aged 14-18 who cannot continue formal education for various reasons alone. The White Hearts Education and Development Center offers vocational training courses, hobby workshops, and support in terms of psychologists and sociologists in areas that students are interested in. As part of this, strawberry, banana, chocolate waffles and various types of coffee prepared by all trainees who have been training at the center for about 8 months were served to the guests. With the event, students who prepared Turkish coffee, Cafe latte, Americano, and Cappuccino and experienced their first serving improved their self-confidence and increased their motivation.

Education is provided in every field

Under the Social Services Branch Directorate of the Health and Social Services Department Presidency, the White Hearts Education and Development Center identifies children aged 14-18 who have had to pause their school life for various reasons and provides them with orientations. Trainings are provided in vocational and hobby workshops at the center. In vocational workshops, there are trainings for assistant chefs, baristas, hairdressing, pastry making; in hobby workshops, there are drama, visual arts, coding, music, writing education, and sports activities. In addition, informative trainings such as family counseling, individual counseling, family education, values education are regularly implemented at the center.
