Atatürk Mansion in Trabzon, known as the place where Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk wrote his will, was flooded with visitors during the Feast of Sacrifice. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who visited Trabzon for the first time between September 15-17, 1924, liked the mansion built as a summer house in 1890 by Kostantin Kabayanidis in the pine forests in the Soğuksu neighborhood. The title deed and key of the mansion, which was registered by the Trabzon Special Administration in 1930 and ‘donated’ to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, were handed over to Atatürk by a committee established in Trabzon. Atatürk stayed in this mansion for 2 days during his third visit to Trabzon and also prepared his will here. The 133-year-old mansion where Atatürk wrote his will stating that he left all his assets to the Turkish people was restored by Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality. Atatürk Mansion, closed to visitors on September 23, 2022, due to restoration works, was reopened to visitors during the centenary of the Republic. Atatürk Mansion, visited by thousands of local and foreign tourists every year, also attracted great interest during the Feast of Sacrifice. Sedat Akyol, who came from Izmir to Trabzon for the holiday, expressed their intention to come again, saying, ‘We visited, everything is very nice and in order. We toured all the rooms. God willing, we are thinking of coming again.’ Visitor Hatice Sözüpek said, ‘It is such a beautiful feeling to come here and touch by the founder of this country, this beautiful leader. I am here for the first time, thinking of coming again. I toured all the rooms from top to bottom.’ Burak Yıldırım, another visitor, expressed their admiration by saying, ‘We came from Erzurum, it was very beautiful, we were amazed. I am here for the first time. We toured all around, the sitting rooms, the bathroom, the library, we were amazed. I am thinking of coming again.’
