The 39th city celebration in Kocaeli, which has become a traditional event, was held with intense participation. People of all ages, from 7 to 70, embraced each other, while a common message was delivered for all nations who have been subjected to genocide. The 39th City Celebration, organized by the Kocaeli Governorship, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, and Kocaeli City Council, took place with a high turnout. The program, held at the Kocaeli Congress Center on the second day of the Ramadan Feast, started with music performed by the marching band. The event, which attracted the interest of people of all ages, was attended by the provincial protocol and prominent figures of the city. Speaking at the program, the President of the City Council, Ali Korkmaz, stated, ‘The feast is the heritage of our ancient culture. While we experience the joyful and festive days of the feast, unfortunately, in various parts of the world, especially in Gaza, Palestine, and East Turkestan, innocent people, women, and children are subjected to genocide. Their being left alone with their pain in helplessness diminishes our feast happiness.’ Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tahir Büyükakın, who congratulated everyone on the feast, expressed, ‘I wish for all oppressed nations in the troubled geographies of the world to experience holidays in peace, tranquility, and brotherhood. May Allah not disrupt our unity and togetherness. Let us reach many more feasts in peace and happiness.’ Kocaeli Governor Seddar Yavuz said, ‘I congratulate our esteemed nation and the Islamic world on the feast. Kocaeli is an exemplary city in Turkey. It is one of our cities that best reflects social integration and harmony, both in terms of production, industry, and advancements in science and technology. One heart, one hand. We all continue to work for this nation and state. I pray to Allah for our oppressed brothers and sisters to have days of deliverance from suffering.’ Following the speeches, the city celebration took place. Governor Yavuz then proceeded to the Provincial Security Directorate and the Provincial Gendarmerie Command to continue the holiday greetings.
