6 ducklings of the goose species abandoned by their mothers in Kırıkkale were safely released into their natural habitats. In the district of Delice in Kırıkkale, on May 13, the Provincial Gendarmerie Environmental, Nature and Animal Protection Team found 6 ducklings of the goose species abandoned by their mothers while patrolling. The ducklings, taken under protection by the gendarmerie teams, were handed over to the Nature Conservation and National Parks Branch Directorate. The DKMP teams monitored the ducklings, closely followed their health status, and provided necessary care. After a month of care, ensuring that the ducklings grew up healthy, the DKMP teams, along with the gendarmerie teams, released the ducklings into their natural habitats. A dam lake near the vineyard house of Hasan Tarık Bozkoyun, a farmer in Karaahmetli village, became the new home for the ducklings. Thanks to the cooperation between the gendarmerie teams and DKMP, the abandoned ducklings were successfully reintroduced to nature in a healthy manner. Hasan Tarık Bozkoyun, a farmer in the village, expressed his gratitude to the teams ensuring the safety of the ducks in the region, stating, ‘This is a safe area where I live. We do not want hunters and fishermen to come here. We will take care of the ducks here.’ Bozkoyun emphasized that they inherited the region clean from their ancestors and have to leave it the same way to their grandchildren. Stressing the importance of protecting the ducks, Bozkoyun said, ‘If you ask children what a goose is, they wouldn’t know. Our ancestors knew about them, they grew up with them. Hopefully, our children will grow up with them too. This exemplary behavior made me very happy. We will take care of the geese with love.’
