The gendarmerie celebrated its 185th anniversary in Aydın

The celebrations of the 185th anniversary of the Gendarmerie General Command began with a ceremony held in front of the Aydın Governorship. The 185th anniversary of the Gendarmerie General Command was celebrated with enthusiasm in Aydın as well as all over the country. The celebration program, which started with a wreath-laying ceremony in front of the Aydın Governorship, saw a wreath laid on the bust of Atatürk by the Aydın Provincial Gendarmerie Commander, Gendarmerie Colonel Ali Naci Aldemir. Following a moment of silence and the National Anthem, congratulatory messages and the history of the Gendarmerie General Command were read. In the poetry competition organized nationwide by the Gendarmerie General Command, Nazlıcan Gülden, an 11th grade student from Germencik Anatolian High School, who ranked at the provincial level among high schools, read her poem ‘I Am Gendarmerie,’ and Buse Akın, a 7th grade student from Kuyucak Imam Hatip Middle School, who ranked among middle schools, read her poem ‘Noble Gendarmerie, Great Gendarmerie.’ Gendarmerie Colonel Ali Naci Aldemir, the Aydın Provincial Gendarmerie Commander, in his speech about the significance of the day, stated, ‘Today, with pride, honor, happiness, and excitement, we are celebrating the 185th anniversary of the Gendarmerie organization that we are proud to be a part of. The Gendarmerie General Command, with a history of 185 years full of achievements, has been honored with the deep love and trust of our noble nation since its establishment, and has always earned the appreciation of our nation with its services in maintaining the indivisible integrity of the Republic of Turkey, ensuring the peace and security of our nation, and maintaining public order. As personnel of the Gendarmerie General Command, we are determined to protect, strengthen, and further strengthen this existing bond of trust and love, acting with the consciousness of our nation’s affection towards us. The Gendarmerie of the Republic of Turkey, which has gained the endless trust of the Turkish nation, has been and will continue to be in the service of our people at every moment of daily life, in every part of our country, day and night, in all weather conditions, without any distinction, regardless of rain or mud.’ The program, which concluded with the presentation of awards to the students who ranked in the poetry competition following Colonel Aldemir’s speech, was attended by ASAL Regional President Garrison Commander Col. Hakkı Haktan Armağan, Aydın Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Col. Ali Naci Aldemir, Aydın Gendarmerie Squadron Commander Gendarmerie Lt. Col. Koray Ergin, Aydın Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Yiğit Menderes, political party representatives, and gendarmerie personnel.
