The Provincial Mufti of Denizli, Abdullah Pamuklu, stated that ‘Competent individuals should slaughter the sacrificial animals, no harm should be done to them, sacrificial animals should be slaughtered in hygienic environments at slaughterhouses, and slaughter should not be carried out in public spaces.’ Prior to the upcoming Eid al-Adha in Denizli, Provincial Mufti Abdullah Pamuklu made important statements regarding sacrificial animals, considerations during the slaughter, and donations for sacrificial animals. Mufti Pamuklu explained that they have established a commission at the Directorate, held meetings under the chairmanship of the deputy governor to make decisions regarding the sheltering places for sacrificial animals, slaughter areas, and the conditions of slaughterhouses. He emphasized the importance of slaughtering sacrificial animals without causing them any harm, ensuring that the act is performed by knowledgeable and experienced butchers. Pamuklu highlighted the significance of slaughtering sacrificial animals in hygienic conditions at slaughterhouses and avoiding public slaughter in social areas. He also urged citizens who slaughter their sacrificial animals in their own yards to pay attention to hygiene and cleanliness.
Mufti Pamuklu reminded that great care should be taken during the slaughter to prevent the sacrificial animal from getting dirty. He explained the religious considerations to be taken into account during the slaughter process. After the necessary blood vessels are cut, the animal should be allowed to bleed out completely without showing any reaction when touched. Following this, the nerves between the vertebrae should be cut, and then the head should be separated from the body. Pamuklu emphasized the need to rest the meat after slaughter and before consumption, especially in warm weather. He also stressed the proper disposal of offal and other waste in designated containers. Pamuklu also mentioned that they continue to receive donations for sacrificial animals through the Religious Affairs Presidency.
Pamuklu highlighted that they continue to accept donations for sacrificial animals through the Religious Affairs Directorate. He mentioned that they provide sacrificial services in 149 countries across 3 continents through the Diyanet Foundation. Pamuklu noted that this year, due to economic conditions, there is a difference in domestic and international donation amounts. While international donations are higher at 4,750 Turkish Liras, domestic donations are slightly weaker. Pamuklu expressed his gratitude to the people of Denizli for their support in donating sacrificial animals and thanked them for entrusting their sacrificial donations to the Turkey Diyanet Foundation.
