Aydın Governor Yakup Canbolat issued a message on the occasion of the 185th anniversary of the Turkish gendarmerie. Emphasizing the importance of the gendarmerie in his message, Governor Canbolat said, ‘We proudly celebrate the 185th Anniversary of our Gendarmerie Organization, which fulfills its duty with great dedication regardless of the concept of time, in ensuring the tranquility of our country and our people, and in ensuring the safety of life and property. Since its establishment, our Gendarmerie Organization, with its deep-rooted experience and self-sacrificing members, has been working day and night for the happiness of our people, displaying superior success in the fight against crime and criminals, ensuring peace and security for the society. Our Turkish Gendarmerie Organization, deriving its power from the laws and its support from our esteemed nation, continues to instill fear in the enemy with its love of the homeland, technological equipment, well-trained personnel, discipline, capabilities, and mission understanding. Showing increasing commitment to the law, justice, human rights, and democratic values, it carries out citizen-centered cultural and social activities. With its efforts in the preservation of natural and wildlife, it has managed to have a special place in the hearts of our people. The personnel of the Aydın Provincial Gendarmerie Command, with the awareness of constituting one of the most important steps in the dialogue between our state and our citizens, carry out ‘Citizen-Focused Public Service.’ I wholeheartedly believe that our heroic gendarmerie, who has fulfilled its duty of ensuring the peace and security of our citizens without succumbing to any threat so far, will continue to carry out the challenging mission it has undertaken successfully in the future. With these feelings and thoughts, I congratulate the 185th anniversary of our Turkish Gendarmerie Organization, remembering the martyrs who lost their lives in the line of duty with mercy, and expressing gratitude to the veterans and retirees, while wishing health, happiness, and success to the personnel of the Gendarmerie General Command.
