Calf Center Protocol has been signed

Protocol for Calf Center signed in Erzincan.

The protocol signing ceremony took place in the Governorship Meeting Hall, attended by Governor Hamza Aydoğdu, Deputy Governors Yusuf İzci, Mehmet Emre Canpolat, President of Erzincan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ahmet Tanoğlu, President of Erzincan Breeders and Cattle Breeders Association Faruk Günay, Director of Erzincan Agriculture and Forestry Murat Şahin, and Secretary General of Erzincan Chamber of Commerce Şule Arslan.

Erzincan Governor Hamza Aydoğdu stated in his speech, “This project, initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in 2018 in 9 provinces to support breeding of pedigree cattle. The main aim of the project is to ensure the breeding of high-quality heifers in our province and region, reduce animal imports from abroad, and support livestock breeders. In this context, a company named ‘Erzincan Pedigree Livestock Development and Organization Inc.’ was established in our province through the partnership of Erzincan Breeders and Cattle Breeders Association and Erzincan Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The application for the Heifer Breeding Support Grant Program was accepted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in 2018. The construction of a 500-head Pedigree Heifer Center in the city center for the mentioned project was completed in 2020. In this regard, a grant support of 2,233,000 TL was provided by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in 2021. To benefit from the grant support, this enterprise must continue for 5 years and carry out 3 cattle transactions within this period. In this context, the first round of animals consisted of 500 heifers, all of which were sold on 15.08.2022. With today’s protocol, a subsidized loan will be obtained from Ziraat Bank and the remaining 2 rounds of cattle procurement and sales will be carried out. For this purpose, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry is leasing their 50% share to the Erzincan Breeders and Cattle Breeders Association for 2 years.” Governor Aydoğdu thanked Deputy Governors Yusuf İzci and Mehmet Emre Canpolat for their contributions to the project and wished success.

Subsequently, the Calf Center Protocol was signed among the parties.
