Attention was drawn to ethical and proper use in artificial intelligence

In the district of Kozan in Adana, volunteer teachers at the Science and Art Center came together to develop a project on artificial intelligence for young people, and warned against artificial intelligence fraud and scams. The Director of Kozan Science and Art Center (BILSEM), Abdullah Dağ, provided students with education on the use of ‘artificial intelligence’ and ethical values, conveying information on the correct use of artificial intelligence and programming. Emrah Türkseven, Mathematics Teacher at Kozan BILSEM Center, stated, ‘We developed a project on artificial intelligence with teachers at our school. We provided basic information on artificial intelligence and conducted applications. With this project, we aimed to contribute to the national technology move in the field of artificial intelligence. We worked on tasks such as object recognition, handwriting text reading, and identifying individuals.’ Deputy Director of Martyr Mehmet Oflaz Boarding School, Ayhan Yıldırım, said, ‘We developed an automation project using artificial intelligence at the school. Through these activities, we conveyed to students how the future of artificial intelligence should be approached with ethical values and in a proper manner.’ A student named Ahmet Alp Ülgen, who disapproved of a student using artificial intelligence to cheat in the university entrance exam this year, said, ‘Artificial intelligence will be a part of everyone’s life in the future. We will use this technology. But if you cheat in the exam this year by using artificial intelligence, you are infringing upon the rights of thousands or millions of students. Everyone is studying, and you are cheating. People are now using artificial intelligence not only for its good aspects but also for its bad aspects.’ Student Yusuf İyi emphasized the importance of using artificial intelligence for good purposes, saying, ‘Artificial intelligence should be used for good things. For example, if an artificial intelligence sign is used in front of a bakery for visually impaired individuals and it says ‘You can buy bread here,’ if used for malicious purposes, a bank could be robbed by an artificial intelligence with a laser weapon.’
