Zonguldak BEU is among the best universities in the world

ZBEU has succeeded in being among the world’s leading universities in the Times Higher Education (THE) 2024 Impact Rankings, ranking among the top four universities in Turkey in the Climate Action category in the range of 101-200. The London-based higher education ranking organization Times Higher Education, which evaluates and lists world universities in various categories, announced the results of the ‘2024 Impact Rankings.’ In the ranking, Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (ZBEU) was listed in the range of 801-1000, placing it among the best universities in the world.
In THE 2024 Impact Rankings, which evaluate universities based on their efforts within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, 2152 higher education institutions from 125 countries were included. ZBEU advanced its position among the 91 Turkish universities listed in the ranking. Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University achieved success by being among the top 4 universities in Turkey in the Climate Action category, within the 101-200 range of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. By obtaining a ranking of 301-400 in the category of Health and Well-being, it once again proved to be among the top 20 prestigious universities providing health services in Turkey.
As an indicator of the intensive efforts ZBEU has made in the field of environment and sustainability in recent years, it ranked in the range of 401-600 in the Access to Clean Energy category, demonstrating its success among the top 36 universities in Turkey. In the category of Zero Hunger, ZBEU ranked among the top 301-400 universities globally, becoming one of the top 21 universities in Turkey. In the category of Reduced Inequalities, it ranked among the top 401-600 universities globally and among the top 41 universities in Turkey.
ZBEU, which ranked in the range of 401-600 globally in the Responsible Production and Consumption category, also ranked among the top 35 universities in Turkey. In the category of Life Below Water, ZBEU ranked among the top 301-400 globally and among the top 16 universities in Turkey. In the category of Life on Land, ZBEU ranked among the top 401-600 globally and among the top 29 universities in Turkey.
In addition to these achievements, in the Partnerships for the Goals category where all universities are listed, ZBEU ranked in the range of 1001-1500. Furthermore, Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University made significant progress in the general ranking compared to previous years, impressively placing in the range of 801-1000 among over 2000 world universities. Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University evaluates efforts related to Climate Action, such as strengthening resilience and adaptive capacity to climate-related hazards and natural disasters, integrating climate change measures into national policies, strategies, and planning, education, awareness-raising, and capacity-building on climate change mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction, and early warning, and supporting mechanisms that enhance effective planning and management capacities related to climate change.
According to these results, ZBEU once again proved its success, especially in environmental awareness, green energy, and the provision of health services in the region. Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, commenting on the success achieved by Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University in THE 2024 Impact Rankings, stated: ‘As Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, we continue our growth focused on quality with determination. The success achieved by our university in THE Impact Rankings, which concentrates its activities under the areas of quality education, community service, and internationalization, is prideful.
