A promotional event was organized for the book ‘The Heart of Humanity is Palestine’ written by students at the Rami Library. Speaking at the event, the Istanbul Provincial Director of National Education, Murat Mücahit Yentür, stated, ‘We attach great importance to our book ‘The Heart of Humanity is Palestine’ being considered as a note in history.’ The event, where a discussion titled ‘Being a Child in Palestine’ took place, featured children taking the stage to read the poems and compositions they had written. Attendees included Ali Çelik, the Director of Rami Library, Istanbul Provincial Director of National Education Murat Mücahit Yentür, children, and their families. At the end of the program, Yentür took a souvenir photo with the children.
Stressing the significance of the book ‘The Heart of Humanity is Palestine’ as a historical note, Istanbul Provincial Director of National Education Murat Mücahit Yentür said, ‘It is crucial that our children’s response to oppression, their raising of a voice in Istanbul, their thoughts and feelings being reflected in writing. Unfortunately, we witness the darkest days in history. I wish we had never seen them. I wish these things had not been written. We are making new beginnings for a generation that is imbued with the humane, national, spiritual, ethical, moral, conscientious values, equipped with the skills of the age, capable of understanding the era, and imagining a world beyond the era. Therefore, we congratulate our 173 students. We congratulate the teachers who raised them. We thank the valuable mothers and fathers. We attach great importance to our book ‘The Heart of Humanity is Palestine’ being considered as a note in history. Because human memory is weak and forgets. So, to prevent forgetting, our children turned the painful days that extinguished the hopes of the children of Gaza into a book with their pens and emotions, as a dark stain in history. We also tried to lead this. Along with our valuable colleagues, we present and gift the book ‘The Heart of Humanity is Palestine’ as a well-thought-out historical note to all Istanbul and all of Turkey. We pray to the Almighty, especially on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, for these bad days, this oppression to end soon.’
