SUBU, in the 2024 Impact Rankings by THE, one of the world’s leading university ranking organizations that evaluates universities contributing to the UN sustainable development goals, ranked in the 1001+ band in the overall ranking. Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Sarıbıyık, stating that they have achieved a significant success, noted that they aim for higher rankings in the coming years. Sakarya University of Applied Sciences (SUBU) ranked in the 1001+ band in the overall ranking in THE’s 2024 Impact Rankings, which it applied with 10 sustainable development goals to one of the world’s leading university ranking organizations, Times Higher Education (THE). THE, based in London, evaluates universities contributing to the United Nations’ (UN) sustainable development goals and shares them with the public through the Impact Rankings. In this context, SUBU managed to rank in the 401+ band worldwide in the titles of ‘No Poverty,’ ‘Affordable and Clean Energy,’ and ‘Sustainable Cities and Communities.’ SUBU established itself in the 801+ band in the titles of ‘Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure,’ ‘Reduced Inequalities,’ and ‘Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.’ In the titles of ‘Good Health and Well-being,’ ‘Quality Education,’ and ‘Decent Work and Economic Growth,’ SUBU was ranked in the 1001+ band. The success was a reflection of the efforts. Rector of SUBU, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Sarıbıyık, who made evaluations regarding THE 2024 Impact Rankings, stated, “The titles where we ranked in the 401+ band proved that we have carried out effective projects on the related topics and our sustainable urban development works have been internationally recognized. The titles where we ranked in the 801+ band emphasized our efforts towards the development of industry and social infrastructure. The titles where we ranked in the 1001+ band showed us that we need to work more on these topics. Nevertheless, the recognition of the steps we have taken in these titles worldwide made us happy. THE, which rigorously applies research, management, social aid, and teaching-based criteria, signed a comprehensive study and sealed our university’s commitment to and leadership in sustainable development goals. The success we have achieved was a reflection of our efforts for our students and society. This success also indicated our commitment to fulfilling our mission and acting in line with our vision. I thank all my colleagues who contributed to this significant success and our Quality Coordination Unit, which carries out sustainability and global ranking studies at our university. We will continue to work diligently to achieve greater successes in the coming years.”
