This is the essence of the matter.’ Speaking at the Economy Campus, Tatar emphasized that the ties with Turkey are getting stronger, mentioning the increase in the number of flights to Istanbul, Ankara, and Trabzon, which further solidifies the bonds between the two regions. “Cyprus is a national cause, the cause of the Turkish Cypriots” President Tatar, who stated that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has grown over the years, underlined, ‘No one should dismiss us as a small piece of land. We have maritime jurisdiction areas, territorial waters. We have our continental shelf, economic exclusive zones. When we combine all these with the rights and laws of the Republic of Turkey in the Eastern Mediterranean, a completely different national map emerges for us. In this different national map, natural resources, energy issues, security issues, both in the seas and in the skies, in the airspace, we all know how crucial aviation is for our national security, therefore, while we continue our struggle in Cyprus, our joint national cause with Turkey, that is, when Cyprus is mentioned, yes, Cyprus is a national cause. It is the cause of the Turkish Cypriots. The Republic of Turkey, our motherland, is a very important cause that is being pursued together and jointly. Because it is a matter that concerns all of us. Here in Isparta, there is also an issue that concerns you all because within a short distance you can reach the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and all the national issues in the surrounding seas to some extent pass through the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Northern Cyprus is a frontier homeland. In the Eastern Mediterranean, it is an unshakable and unbreakable Turkish fortress” he said.
“I hope to see all of you in Cyprus on July 20th” Continuing his speech, Tatar touched upon the anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation, saying, ‘The achievement of freedom through the landing of Turkish soldiers in Cyprus was a great success and victory for us at the national level. Hopefully, six weeks from now, on July 20, 2024, we will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation all together. I thank once again President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of the Republic of Turkey. He had made a statement during a recent visit inviting us to go together and celebrate the enthusiasm in Cyprus. I thank him for announcing our enthusiasm to Turkey in advance and for us to experience this enthusiasm in Cyprus with ceremonies with seniors on July 20. I hope to see all of you in Cyprus on July 20. I especially want to see our veterans because depending on geopolitical developments, the elevation of the status of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has been raised as an independent Turkish state in the southernmost region of the entire Turkish world all the way to Kazakhstan, both in the blue homeland and through various collaborations in the airspace with the Republic of Turkey has elevated the status of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus”.
