The TFF Turkey Championship Group B matches of the 1st Stage started in Denizli. In the first match played in hot weather, Izmir Pınargücü defeated Isparta Special Provincial Administration Sports Club 3-0.
Between June 11 – 14, 2024, in Denizli, the TFF Turkey Championship Group B matches of the 1st Stage, with the participation of Izmir Aliağa SK, Burdur Bucak Oğuzhanspor, Muğlaspor, Izmir Pınargücü, Isparta Special Provincial Administration Sports Club, and Antalya Kale Kapısı SK teams, started with the matches held at Başkarcı Stadium. In the first match of the group, Izmir Pınargücü defeated Isparta Special Provincial Administration Sports Club 3-0 with the goals of İbrahim Seçan, Mustafa Sivrikaya, and Ali Özdemir, gaining a significant advantage. Nasuh Aydoğdu from Izmir Pınargücü received a red card in the 62nd minute of the match.
“We couldn’t play the first half as we wanted”
Evaluating the match, Izmir Pınargücü Technical Director Yalçın Akdemir pointed out that the team is composed of talented players, saying, “Denizli brings us luck. Last year, we became champions here in the U17 finals and made it to the top 5 teams. In April, we also reached the final in U16. Today there was an extraordinary heat. Our game style is based on passing. Of course, we couldn’t demonstrate this at the beginning of the match. There are reasons for this. The first reason is the stress here. No matter how much you try to relieve the stress, players are somehow affected. In the first half, a little stress and the heat affected the resistance of the opponent at the beginning of the match, causing us not to be able to play the game we wanted. But in the second half, the moves we made worked. Our players born in 2008 stepped up. We scored very nice goals. I thank my kids. Championships and finals that are in our genes will always be there. Hopefully, we will rest tomorrow. Hopefully, we will see the final in the match against Antalya” he said.
“The red card positively affected the team”
Emphasizing that Nasuh Aydoğdu’s red card in the 62nd minute had a positive effect on the team, Akdemir said, “The red card incident did not affect the team much. Sometimes red cards are auspicious after scoring. It was auspicious for us too. Because this way, the team’s resistance increases even more. Sometimes when the score is 2-0, I prefer to be left with 10 players instead of 11. I have experienced these kinds of things a lot in my football career. I think it was an advantage for us. This way, the players in rest mode stepped up. In the end, it ended 3-0. It was an enjoyable match for us. Hopefully, we will see the final” he stated.
