CHP’s Kepez Municipality Mayor Mesut Kocagöz, who is being tried under arrest in the cable car accident case, attended the June Ordinary Council Meeting of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality after his release. The June Ordinary Council Meeting of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality took place at the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Council Hall. Kepez Municipality Mayor Mesut Kocagöz, who was released at the first hearing of the trial related to the cable car accident that occurred on April 12 at the Tünektepe Cable Car Facilities in Antalya, where one person died and 7 people were injured, took his place for the second time after attending his council meeting on April 13, the day after the cable car accident. AK Party, CHP, MHP, and Democrat Party group spokespersons expressed their good wishes. Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek, who made the opening speech of the meeting, expressed the following after offering condolences to the citizen who lost his life in the cable car accident: ‘I would like to thank all the institutions and organizations that worked in the region for 23 and a half hours during the accident. After the accident, our mayor Mesut Kocagöz was arrested, he regained his freedom yesterday, and as of today, we will continue to serve our fellow Antalyans from where we left off.’ June 11 is an important day in Turkish political history. CHP Group Spokesperson Büşra Dirgen Özdemir reminded that they called for justice for CHP’s Kepez Municipality Mayor Mesut Kocagöz, who was arrested at the council meeting held last month, and said: ‘We called for justice in the May council meeting, shouting for justice with our belief in a fair and impartial judiciary. Today is the day of justice, the day of 650,000 Kepez residents who have been waiting for their mayor for months. June 11 was an important day for us due to the release of Mayor Mesut, and also an important day for Turkish political history. The visit of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to our headquarters after 18 years was an important development for our country at a time when we need national unity and solidarity the most.
