Prof. Dr. Karagöz: ‘We want to expand and strengthen the software ecosystem’

Teknopark General Manager Prof. Dr. İrfan Karagöz, stated that they aim to make Bursa a city that comes to mind when it comes to software and expressed their desire to expand and strengthen the software ecosystem.

The Board Chairman of the Information Sector Businessmen and Professionals Association (BİSİAD), İdris Doğrul, and board members visited ULUTEK Teknopark. During the visit, discussions were held with ULUTEK General Manager Prof. Dr. İrfan Karagöz and ULUTEK management regarding the current situation and future of the sector.

At the meeting where ULUTEK’s goals of expanding the ecosystem and increasing collective productivity were emphasized, ULUTEK Teknopark General Manager Prof. Dr. İrfan Karagöz stated, “We aim to make Bursa a city that comes to mind when it comes to software. We have created a large ecosystem with our software companies in the Technopark. We want to expand and strengthen this ecosystem more qualitatively. The software valley project is also very important in making Bursa a nationally and internationally recognized technology center. We thank İdris Doğrul and the BİSİAD Board for their support and opinions on this idea.”

BİSİAD Board Chairman İdris Doğrul highlighted the potential Bursa has in the software sector. Doğrul said, “The software sector is growing rapidly and Bursa should have a significant share in this growth. While our place in software can exceed 15% of Turkey, according to the TOBB Software Committee, it is below 10%. ULUTEK has a strategic position in this regard with the software companies and potential it houses. We should make it more attractive for software companies to be located in ULUTEK. With this aim, we want to support the emergence of strong software companies through incentives and grants. The software valley in ULUTEK also plays an important role in this regard. As BİSİAD, we are ready to contribute to this process by increasing the brand value of the Technopark and making Bursa a recognized center in the field of software at a national and international level.”
