Mersin Water and Sewerage Administration (MESKİ) continues to solve problems by identifying the needs and demands of citizens on the spot. Since October 2019, MESKİ has been conducting visits to over 1,300 neighborhoods, listening to the requests and demands of citizens and implementing projects to solve the problems.
Embracing a social service approach, MESKİ is making significant efforts to deliver quality services to citizens and quickly find solutions to their problems. By listening to the problems of the citizens on-site, MESKİ identifies any issues or deficiencies and promptly forwards them to the relevant departments. MESKİ Press, Publishing, and Public Relations Branch Directorate teams, who have conducted over 1,300 neighborhood visits from October 2019 until today, continue to listen to the demands of citizens.
“We will continue to perform our duties with pleasure”
MESKİ Press, Publishing, and Public Relations Branch Directorate employee Gülşen Yıldırım stated that she had direct conversations with citizens during her fieldwork. Yıldırım mentioned that there are 806 neighborhoods in Mersin, with 506 of them located in rural areas. She said, “Since I started my duty in 2019, I have visited 1,300 neighborhoods. Most of these visits were in rural areas. I chatted with neighborhood headmen, residents in village tea houses, women I visited at home, and children playing in the streets, listened to their problems, and reported them to the necessary authorities.” She also mentioned that she reported the parts related to the Metropolitan Municipality through the TEKSİN application or by calling the relevant departments, stating, “There is no neighborhood or village we have not visited from Adana to the border of Antalya. From now on, we will continue to perform our duties with pleasure and love.”
