Digital zoning era started at Akyazı Municipality

Akyazı Municipality is digitizing the entire process of issuing zoning certificate, building permit, and occupancy permit provided by the Directorate of Planning and Urbanization. Akyazı Municipality continues its digital transformation initiative. Aiming to efficiently use public resources and build a smart city, Akyazı Municipality is starting a new era in the operations of the Directorate of Planning and Urbanization. In addition to zoning inquiry, building permit issuance, static, architectural, electrical, and mechanical projects, map tasks, and procedures, as well as occupancy procedures, can now all be done online. Mayor Bilal Soykan expressed that important efforts have been made as Akyazı Municipality to improve service quality and provide smart solutions. He said, ‘In this regard, we had previously enabled our citizens to access municipal services via e-government. Our citizens can now perform many transactions such as tax payments through e-government without the need to visit our municipality.’ Mayor Soykan also mentioned that the operations of the Directorate of Planning and Urbanization have now moved to digital. He stated, ‘With the new system, the application and information acquisition process for project authors, building inspection organizations, and citizens have been both facilitated and accelerated. Thanks to the services transferred to the virtual environment, our citizens will be able to make zoning inquiries and applications digitally wherever and whenever they want. As the requested documents by the Directorate will also be transferred to the virtual environment, unnecessary paper usage will be minimized.’ Mayor Soykan emphasized that digitalization efforts will continue. He said, ‘Our efforts continue to make municipal services more efficient. By moving our services to the digital environment in this way, we not only enable our citizens to perform their transactions more quickly and easily but also provide our colleagues with the opportunity to work more efficiently. Our citizens and project stakeholders can easily perform the operations and transactions related to our Directorate of Planning and Urbanization on the ‘Zoning Application’ tab at www.akyazi.bel.tr.’ Mayor Soykan added that Geographic Information System (GIS), which was previously unused and an important need in Akyazı, has started to be used. He stated, ‘With this application that contains all technical information about our district and ensures integration with all institutions, the correct use of public resources has also been facilitated.’
