Skillful women’s handicrafts and products were showcased at an exhibition opened within the framework of Lifelong Learning Week. In the end-of-year exhibition organized at the Bayburt Public Education Center to promote the culture of lifelong learning, products produced by talented women throughout the year were exhibited.

The Lifelong Learning Week program, attended by Governor Mustafa Eldivan and his wife Meltem Eldivan, Provincial Director of National Education Rahmi Güney, institution managers, school principals, teachers, students, and numerous art enthusiasts, started with a minute of silence and the National Anthem. After the opening and protocol speeches, the Public Education Center team and the Shair Zihni Primary School girls’ folk dance team performed folk dance shows. Following the performances of traditional folk dances and a live music performance by Serdar Eslek and students, the exhibition opening took place.

Tiles, ceramics, handicrafts, jewelry, crochet patterns, embroideries, ephram designs, amber jewelry, visual art products, and souvenirs crafted by Public Education Center students were displayed at the end-of-year exhibition and received great interest from the guests.

Activities within the scope of Lifelong Learning Week continued with the opening of the culinary workshop established at the Public Education Center.

Governor Eldivan, who toured the exhibition workshops, examined the products, and received information from the students, thanked the master instructors and students for their efforts, saying, ‘As you know, this week is Lifelong Learning Week. Just like all over Turkey, here in Bayburt, we have had the opportunity to see the works of housewives, master instructors, and students in our city, districts, and different villages every day this week, open exhibitions, and then visit them. Today, the works of master instructors and students at the Public Education Center are being exhibited. Beautiful products requiring skill are presented here. It pleased us to see more products that are more suitable for trade and social life because, for years, Public Education Center exhibitions have been displaying products made as dowry, which had no economic value or commercial significance. Recently, women have started selling products on different social media platforms due to the influence of social media. There are no flaws in these products, they are valuable because they are handmade, they are not produced in mass quantities, some of them carry organic, some carry regional traces. I find these products very valuable. We have been touring the exhibition for about an hour, and we will have 2 more hours. I thank the master instructors, our Director of National Education, our Public Education Center Director, and the students who contributed here. Of course, our main goal here is to promote the works of women in Bayburt reflecting Anatolian culture, make sales domestically and abroad, and also create a transformation, a movement, and I believe that in the future, it should contribute to the economy and the cultural and social structure of Bayburt. I thank everyone involved.’
