Turkcell presented a success award of 3 million TL to the Amputee National Football Team, of which it is the main sponsor. Turkcell CEO Dr. Ali Taha Koç stated, ‘We will continue to invest in sports and athletes in all areas. Our focus is not only on trophies and medals. We believe in the unifying and healing power of sports.’
The Amputee National Football Team, who became champions for the third consecutive time at the EURO 2024 Amputee Football Championship held in Evian-Les-Bains, France, returned to Turkey. Welcomed by an enthusiastic crowd at Istanbul Airport, the national athletes celebrated the historic success with their fans. The Amputee National Football Team, which achieved its first championship in Turkey in 2017 at the European Amputee Football Championship, also finished second in the World Cup in 2018. The crescent-star national team won the championship cup for the second time at the European Amputee Football Championship, postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and achieved three consecutive championships in this year’s tournament by defeating all their opponents. Turkcell, the main sponsor, presented a success award of 3 million TL to our crescent-star nationals.

Dr. Koç expressed pride in supporting disabled sports branches for 15 years and being alongside our athletes, saying:
