The Provincial Health Director Şenkul did not leave his injured staff alone at the hospital after the accident

The Provincial Health Director of Aydın, Dr. Eser Şenkul, visited the health personnel who were injured in an accident when an ambulance carrying patients overturned as a result of a collision with a car in the Efeler district to convey his ‘get well soon’ wishes at the hospital.

The accident occurred on Sunday, June 9th, on İzmir Boulevard in Fatih District around 13.00. According to the information received, the ambulance with the plate number 09 HG 792 and the car with the plate number 35 ABL 331 collided at an intersection. As a result of the collision, the ambulance was thrown and overturned, sliding for meters. A total of 4 people, including the patient in the ambulance, a relative of the patient, and health personnel, were injured in the accident. Witnesses of the accident reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon notification, health, police, and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the scene. With the help of the surrounding citizens, the injured in the overturned ambulance were rescued and handed over to the health workers. The injured, who received initial interventions by the health teams, were taken to the hospital by ambulances and placed under treatment. The road, which was closed due to the accident, was reopened after the tow trucks removed the vehicles involved in the accident.

Fatality at the hospital

Fatma Gümüş (85), who was in the ambulance as a patient after the accident and was taken to the hospital with another ambulance, could not be saved despite all the efforts of the doctors.

Health Director Eser visited the injured personnel at the hospital

Dr. Eser Şenkul, the Provincial Health Director of Aydın, visited the personnel of Germencik 2nd Emergency Health Services Station (Ortaklar) who were injured in the accident and hospitalized for treatment. Expressing his get well soon wishes to the Emergency Health Services personnel, whose general conditions are good and follow-up treatments are ongoing, Director Şenkul stated that the treatment of the patient’s relative continued at Adnan Menderes University Hospital. Şenkul also extended his condolences to the family and relatives of Fatma Gümüş, who was transferred to Atatürk State Hospital with a different ambulance after the accident and passed away despite all interventions.

During the visit of Health Director Eser, the Deputy Head of Health Services and the Chief Physician of the Provincial Ambulance Service also accompanied.
