Turkish engineers involved in the KAAN project, one of Turkey’s most important technology projects, which successfully made its first flight, met with future engineer candidates at Izmir Kiz Lisesi. Coordinated by the Presidency of Defense Industries and conducted by Turkish Aerospace Industries, KAAN, one of Turkey’s most important technology projects that successfully made its first flight, met with Turkish engineer Caglar Ozuoelmez, who is from Izmir and 25 years old, and Corporate Communications Specialist Ozlem Kulahci, with young engineering candidates. In order to transfer the knowledge and experience of Turkish engineers involved in the KAAN project to the future engineers, a meeting was held at Izmir Kiz Lisesi under the coordination of Izmir Provincial Directorate of National Education. 300 students who participated in Science Olympiads, achieved success in Teknofest competitions, listened to the experiences of Caglar Ozuoelmez and Ozlem Kulahci. ‘We are trying to be an inspiration’ Ozlem Kulahci, Corporate Brand Specialist involved in the KAAN project, made a statement about the event. Kulahci said, ‘Today we are at Izmir Kiz Lisesi as TUSAŞ. As you know, TUSAŞ is working on projects that build Turkey’s aviation and space future. Among these are the national combat aircraft Kaan, Gokbey, Hurkus, Hurjet. Today, we are here to meet the talents of the future. We are trying to inspire high school students here, before they even choose their university departments, to tell them about the engineering profession, TUSAŞ, and what we do in the aviation and space fields all over Turkey. I hope we achieve a great success.’ ‘We came to enlighten the minds of our young friends’ Caglar Ozuoelmez, one of the 25-year-old KAAN engineers, expressed his happiness to make this presentation in Izmir, his hometown. Ozuoelmez, who said they would answer all the students’ questions, stated, ‘I am very happy to be here. We came here to be a source of inspiration for our young friends, to answer their questions, and to enlighten their minds. We will make a nice presentation to them. I also work on the helicopter side. Hopefully, the delivery of our Gokbey helicopter will be soon. As you know, this is one of the biggest projects for our nation. I am really very happy to be in my hometown, where I was born and raised. Furthermore, I am also very happy that my fellow citizens came here to listen to me.’
