The famous figure of Yeşilçam, Ediz Hun, met art lovers at the 4th Culture Road Festival organized in Samsun this year by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The Turkey Culture Road Festival, which is organized in 16 cities this year to contribute to Turkey’s international brand value, has its fourth stop in Samsun and will continue until the night of June 16. The festival hosts more than 600 colorful events suitable for all ages, including concerts, exhibitions, workshops, discussions, gastronomy experiences, with more than 30 locations. Ediz Hun met with his fans within the scope of the festival.
Ediz Hun met with art lovers. The Ediz Hun interview held at the Samsun Museum Conference Hall attracted great interest from the locals. Ediz Hun, the legendary figure of Yeşilçam, shared his memories in a nostalgic conversation, providing the audience with enjoyable moments. Ediz Hun, who mentioned that he entered the cinema industry by participating in a competition and shot nearly 140 films, said that he started university again in Norway at the age of 35 and finished second, realizing his ideal. Describing life as a game of chess, Ediz Hun emphasized the importance of taking life seriously and working hard to be successful.
Academician Assoc. Dr. Rıfat Becerikli, stating “We are in the city where the torch of the War of Independence was lit”, emotionally moved Ediz Hun by showing a photo of Ediz Hun’s mother with Atatürk on the screen. In addition, various discussions such as the Future Heritage discussion at the Samsun Museum Conference Hall, the discussion on ‘Craftsmen who Live with the Essence of Tobacco Pier’ and the discussion ‘Ömer Başdoğan and Mehmet Akif Ersoy’ at the Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Art Center took place.
Various exhibitions are held throughout the city. The Samsun Museum hosts Refik Anadol’s exhibition ‘Machine Hallucinations: Coral Dreams’, while the Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Art Center hosts the exhibition ‘Hanzala’ by Naci El-Ali, which emphasizes the Palestinian cause. Numerous other exhibitions such as ‘Basmala Sharif Calligraphy Exhibition’, ‘Black and White Exhibition’, and ‘1919 Samsun’ are meeting visitors at the Samsun Museum. Additionally, different exhibitions like ‘Scenes and Festivals from Azerbaijan’ and ‘Cities and Beauties Photo Exhibition-4 Düzce-Giresun-Ordu-Samsun-Trabzon’ are held at the Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Art Center.
The festival is filled with concerts. The concert by ‘Senai Demirci, Alper Kış’ at Saathane Square and the concert ‘From Kızılırmak to Dicle’ at the Samsun Atatürk Cultural Center Zehra Yıldız Stage offered music-filled hours to the people of Samsun. The theatrical play ‘War’ staged at the Samsun Atatürk Cultural Center Aydın Gün Stage also met with the audience.
Workshops attracted great interest. Workshops such as ‘Shaping Glass in Open Flame with Aslıhan Turna’ at the Samsun Atatürk Cultural Center Gallery, ‘You Are Also a Loop (Kilim Weaving Workshop)’ and ‘Living Heritage Masters Traditional Handicrafts Workshops and Living Heritage Masters Traditional Handicrafts Children Workshops’ at Tütün İskelesi, and ‘Mosaics with Atatürk’ workshop at Samsun Olgunlaşma Enstitüsü Kültür Sanat Merkezi were realized.
The ‘Children’s Village’ set up at Doğupark hosted colorful activities, workshops, stage shows, and theaters for children throughout the day. At the Doğupark ‘Children’s Village’, children enjoyed and learned through activities such as ‘Drama Workshop with Ferdi Kaynar, Rabbit Pencil Holder Workshop, Grass Man Production Workshop, 3D Wood Model Workshop’. Events like ‘Stories for Children with Özgür Özgülgün’, ‘Discovery of the Sky with Telescopes’, ‘Planetaryum: Discovery of Space’, ‘Sky Observation Exhibition’, ‘Sky Observation Knowledge Contest’, and ‘Mobile Library Children’s Festival’ also took place. The children had fun and learned through different experiences. The children’s theater ‘Kukuli’ staged on the second day of the festival provided enjoyable moments for the kids. Additionally, the Gazi Museum, Surgical Tools and Health Museum, and Panorama Samsun Digital Display Center museums were visited by festival participants.
