Young scientists of Balıkesir, who are a source of pride with their achievements in Science Olympiads, visited the Provincial Director of National Education, Ali Tatlı. Students from Altıeylül Science High School, who achieved success in Science Olympiads, organized by Mathematics Teachers Süleyman Emre Başkurt and Gökhan Güneş, visited the Provincial Director of National Education, Ali Tatlı.
A promotional meeting was held for participation in the Science Olympiads at Altıeylül Science High School, where students selected through exams among dozens of students who wanted to participate, stood on the medal podium in the competitions held at Istanbul University.
Competing in various branches of science, students demonstrated their knowledge and skills, achieving significant rankings both individually and as a team. Young talents who showed superior performance in the field of mathematics at this year’s Olympiads made a name for themselves on the national stage.
The Altıeylül Science High School Mathematics Olympiad Team, formed through an exam, continued their preparations by working three days a week under the guidance of their teachers for 8 months. As a result of this intense effort and work, the team first participated in the Turkish Mathematics Competition. Successful students in this competition, Mert Eren Kaymak, Umut Can Coşkun, Musab Bedirhan Demir, and Yusuf Ali Bozkurt, managed to advance to the finals.
The final competitions took place at Izmir Bornova Anatolian High School. The Alfen Mathematics Olympiad Team participated in the International Antalya Mathematics Olympiads with 16 students. As a result of the competitions, 10th grade student Mert Eren Kaymak achieved a great success by winning a silver medal at the International Antalya Mathematics Olympiads. In the Turkish Mathematics Competition, 9th grade students Umut Can Coşkun and Musab Bedirhan Demir won silver medals, while 10th grade student Mert Eren Kaymak and 9th grade student Yusuf Ali Bozkurt won bronze medals, returning to Balıkesir with a total of 5 medals.
Expressing his satisfaction with the visit of the successful students, Provincial Director of National Education Ali Tatlı congratulated the students, teachers, and school administrators for their achievements, stating: “The success of our students once again highlights the importance of scientific research and education, proving how high the potential of our youth in Balıkesir is. The achievements in Science Olympiads contribute to the progress of our country in the fields of science and technology, representing an important step forward.”
