Famous rush to the Canakkale Museum

The ‘100th Year Museum from Çanakkale to the Republic’ brought to the district by the Mayor of Talas, Mustafa Yalçın, is attracting a large number of visitors. Most recently, the museum was visited by Bülend Çolak, who became famous for his role as Ulvi in the TV series ‘Geniş Aile,’ and actor Fatih Koyunoğlu.

The ‘100th Year Museum from Gallipoli to the Republic’ brought to the district by Talas Mayor Mustafa Yalçın is experiencing a high influx of visitors. Most recently, the museum was visited by Bülend Çolak, who gained fame with the character Ulvi in the TV series ‘Geniş Aile’, and actor Fatih Koyunoğlu.

The museum, which was opened with a magnificent ceremony on January 9th by Mayor Yalçın with the aim of instilling the spirit of Gallipoli especially to the youth, has been visited by 76,152 people in 5 months.

Located in the historical Ottoman Culture Street in Kiçiköy Mahallesi Gölbaşı Square, the museum created inside an old stone mansion has been receiving intense interest from people of all ages and backgrounds since its opening.

Among the visitors of the museum, Bülend Çolak, known for his role as Ulvi in the TV series ‘Geniş Aile’, and actor Fatih Koyunoğlu were also present. The duo, who toured the museum together, expressed their admiration for the exhibited works and thanked those who contributed to the construction of the museum.

Furthermore, the museum attracts the attention of not only local visitors but also foreign visitors. Among the foreigners who visited the museum was the world-renowned author of the book ‘Birds Without Wings’, Louis de Bernieres, who wrote in the guestbook, ‘Louis de Bernieres was here. My grandfather was a soldier in Gallipoli.’

After Bernieres, a trade delegation from Oman visited the museum. Saif Al Sudairi, Mahmoud Al Badri, and Salal Al Barr, who expressed their feelings in the museum’s guestbook, wrote, ‘We were honored to visit the museum. The history of the Great Ottoman Empire is an exceptional history.’

The building, which consists of a total of 5 sections and virtually immerses visitors into the Gallipoli War, houses 2 libraries, 2 exhibition halls, and 1 seminar room. The museum also includes special artifacts related to the Gallipoli War, National Struggle, and the early years of the Republic.

The exhibition, which is visited free of charge, has been visited by 150 school groups so far.
