Before the holiday, reservations for rental cars increased, prices doubled

As the Feast of Sacrifice approaches, there is an increase in the reservations of rental cars, and the daily rental fees have doubled due to the holiday. It is emphasized that rental cars should be obtained from corporate companies when renting.
With only a few days left until the Feast of Sacrifice, those who want to spend the holiday in their hometown or do not want to be left without a car during the holiday have turned to rental cars. While over 90% of the holiday reservations for cars have been made, rental companies are trying to meet the demands.
Prices have suddenly increased as the holiday approaches. Prices have doubled for cars, varying according to the brand and model, with economy class cars being rented starting from 1,500 TL per day, while higher classes are rented starting from 3,000 TL. As the days go by, prices are rising, and it has been learned that the influx of holidaymakers from abroad has also increased the intensity.
Warning to ‘Rent from Reliable Companies’ Harun Taşdemir (28), who works at a rental company at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, said that there is a serious intensity before the holiday. Taşdemir, who warns those who will go on long journeys with their cars, said that renting from reliable companies is a must to avoid being a victim. Taşdemir stated, ‘There is currently an intensity of over 90%. There is quite a demand from those who want to go to their hometowns or holiday destinations. When guests coming from abroad for the holiday are added, the intensity increases even more. Currently, an economy class car is around 1,500-1,750 TL per day. Of course, this is excluding insurance packages. Higher segments start from 3,000 TL, and prices will increase even more. I recommend our citizens to rent cars from corporate companies. After all, they will go on long journeys with these cars. No one wants it, but problems can still occur with the cars. Therefore, I recommend renting from companies where they can find someone to address in case of any issues’.
‘They Can Rent Problematic Cars’ Harun Taşdemir, who says that problems can occur with cars from non-corporate companies, continued as follows: ‘Non-corporate individuals or companies can rent problematic cars to you; let’s say hidden or faulty. For example, there may be a problem with the car’s engine, but you may not notice it at first. You drive 200-300 kilometers, and the engine can cause serious problems. After that, they charge you for all the expenses of the engine. They make you pay the expenses’.
Another car rental company representative, Umut Durdu, stated the following: ‘There is a holiday intensity. Our occupancy rate has reached 80-90%. There is more intensity due to customers coming from abroad. Our reservations are full right now. The preparations for the cars are being made’.
