As part of the Distant Countries Project, Southeastern rug exporters, who organize Sectoral Trade Delegations by visiting many countries on every continent, this time went to Japan under the leadership of Zeynal Abidin Kaplan. The delegation, consisting of 31 members from the Southeastern Anatolia Carpet Exporters’ Association, headed by Zeynal Abidin Kaplan, traveled to Osaka, Japan. Supported by the Ministry of Trade, the rug exporters from Gaziantep, who turned their route to Japan this time within the scope of the distant countries project, will hold bilateral meetings with Japanese importers in Osaka and Tokyo between June 8-14, 2024, and will also make various contacts in Japan. Providing information about the activities of the delegation consisting of rug exporters from Gaziantep, who traveled to Japan via Istanbul, GAHIB President Zeynal Abidin Kaplan said, ‘Within the scope of the Distant Countries Project carried out by our Ministry of Trade, we had previously visited many countries to promote our sector and continued our search for new markets. This time, we organized a Sectoral Trade Delegation to Japan, one of the most important countries in the Far East. Our delegation of 31 members departed for Japan today. Our first stop is Osaka, one of the most important cities in Japan for our sector. Here, we will hold B2B meetings with leading carpet importers in Japan, introduce our innovative products and the potential of Gaziantep’s carpet sector, and conduct market research. Then, we will proceed to Tokyo, the capital of Japan, to meet with carpet importers there and hold B2B meetings. After our visit covering the dates of June 8-14, we will return to Turkey.’
