Families who did not leave their children taking the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) alone in Eskişehir waited in front of the school gate by praying. The first session of YKS, which is the Basic Proficiency Exam (TYT), started this morning at 10:15. While the candidates who will take the exam gathered in the school courtyards early not to be late, some students managed to enter the schools at the last minute. In the exam hours where the candidates sweat with big dreams and excitement, their families waiting for them at the door also eagerly waited for their children. Some families waiting in front of the schools prayed and wished success for their children. “My prayers are with my daughter and all our hardworking children.” Nuray Katırancı, who lives in Bozüyük district of Bilecik, waited for her daughter İrem, who took the exam, by praying in front of the school gate. Katırancı, stating that they came to the exam address without rushing, said, “We live in Bozüyük, Bilecik. Our daughter is a 12th grade student, we brought her to the exam. We are praying for her to get good results. Like most parents, our dream is medical school, but our daughter wants to study engineering at METU (Middle East Technical University). Let’s see, let it be for the best, we will evaluate our situation according to the future results. Actually, we were less excited than we expected, normally my daughter is much more excited, the same goes for me. It seems we are quite used to the process. It was good, we entered the exam in a good way. We have 3 daughters, our first daughter is İrem. They have always been successful so far, hopefully they will be successful in their future lives. I started reading the Surah Yasin to support my daughter, I read Surah Al-Mulk and Surah At-Tariq. Then I read Surah Al-Fath. I was reading Surah Al-Waqi’a before you came, we will continue shortly, hopefully. My prayers are with my daughter and all our hardworking children. I did not separate any of them while praying.” The father of İrem Katırancı, who took the exam, said the following: “Children have worked hard until this time, they have made efforts. Hopefully, they will get the reward for their efforts. I wish success to all children.” “We are making all kinds of prayers mentally and spiritually.” Ahmet Bekir, one of the citizens who prayed while waiting for his child to finish the exam, said that they had prepared well until today. Expressing hope in the exam results, Bekir said, “It’s our first year, our goal is Istanbul Technical University Engineering Faculty. My child studied very well. He has been a hardworking student since the 9th grade. At the same time, he is successful at school, his grades are very good. Hopefully, we hope to get good results in the exam. We’re waiting. We are making all kinds of prayers mentally and spiritually. The decision is from Allah. We left home around 08:35 in the morning, there was very heavy traffic. Since we have a Faculty of Theology, our building was right at the entrance, I can’t think about the engineering faculty areas and so on. I wish success to all students in the exam. May Allah grant everyone according to their hearts. Hopefully, they will win the departments they aim for. This is what I wish for.
