While students were sweating it out inside for the first session of the exam called the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT), outside, families continued to wait without paying attention to the rainy weather. It was observed that the students waiting in line to take the exam were extremely calm, while the excitement of the families accompanying their children could be seen on their faces. A parent named Yasemin Elçi, who expressed that she was even more nervous than her daughter taking the exam, said, ‘I am very nervous, I even realized that I buttoned my shirt wrong when I got here, I am very nervous.’
They rushed to catch the exam
In Bayburt, where about 4,000 people applied and the exam will last for 165 minutes, families stated that they were very excited and expressed that they would pray a lot for their children and relatives during the exam. As the doors were about to close and the admissions to the exam venues were ending, those who were going to take the exam hurried to their exam venues. Outside, parents waiting said, ‘Run, my child, run, you have 2 minutes left. You will make it, you caught up,’ and supported the rushing students.

Yasemin Elçi, the mother who brought her daughter Yaren Elçi to the exam and buttoned her shirt wrong due to excitement, answered the question ‘Are you nervous?’ by saying, ‘I am very nervous. In fact, I realized that I buttoned my shirt wrong when I got here. I am very nervous. May Allah open the ways for all our children, may their fortunes be open. May they all get good results from the exam, may they go to good places,’ she said. Her daughter Yaren Elçi, on the other hand, said that she would take the exam without any excitement, ‘I am not nervous at all, I am calm. We will do it, we will finish it, there is nothing to do,’ she said.
‘We prepared breakfast in the morning but couldn’t eat anything due to excitement’
Tülin Tüver, the mother who brought her daughter Nida Tüver to the exam with her husband, said that she prayed a lot and couldn’t have breakfast due to excitement. Speaking by saying ‘We are also very excited, may Allah bring goodness to our end,’ Tüver used the expressions ‘We woke up very early in the morning, prepared breakfast but couldn’t eat anything. We read our Quran, made our prayers, woke our daughter up, rushed to the exam after dressing up. May Allah grant goodness to everyone’s child. We are also very excited, may God bring goodness to the end,’ she said.
‘We hope for success without excitement’
Muhammet Yiğit Korkusuz and Şahin Altun, friends who said they would take the exam calmly without getting nervous, wished success to everyone taking the exam. Muhammet Yiğit Korkusuz, one of the friends who stated that their goals were the Conservatory and the Faculty of Law, said, ‘We are not nervous, we hope it will go well. Hopefully, we will reach our goals, what we want will happen. I want to study Music Education, I am thinking about the conservatory. I will take the Music Education exams, and I am also thinking about being a band sergeant. That’s why I need to pass a certain threshold in the TYT exam, if I pass it, I will reach my dreams,’ he said.
