The first session of YKS, TYT, will be held today

The first session of the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) called the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT) will be held today by the Assessment, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). The 2024-YKS, in which more than 3 million candidates will participate this year, will take place on June 8-9 in 81 provinces across Turkey.

The first session of the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS), the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT), will be held today by the Assessment Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). This year, the 2024-YKS, in which more than 3 million candidates will participate, will be held on June 8-9 in 81 provinces and 245 exam centers nationwide, as well as in the capital of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Lefkoşa, and the capital of Croatia, Zagreb. A total of 3,120,878 candidates will participate in the TYT, the first session of YKS, which will take place at 10:15 today. The exam will be held in 9,855 buildings and 176,851 rooms. A total of 438,684 people will be on duty during the TYT session. A total of 12,848 disabled candidates will take the TYT in single and collective rooms created according to disability groups.
A total of 120 questions will be asked for the exam, with 40 in Turkish Test, 20 in Social Sciences Test, 40 in Basic Mathematics Test, and 20 in Science Test, and a total of 120 questions will be asked with a time limit of 165 minutes for the TYT candidates.
AYT and YDT will be held on Sunday. The second session, AYT, which will take place on June 9 at 10:15, will be attended by 2,019,709 candidates. The exam will be held in 6,231 buildings and 112,695 rooms. In AYT, candidates will be given 40 questions in Turkish Language and Literature-Social Sciences-1 Test, 40 questions in Social Sciences-2 Test, 40 questions in Mathematics Test, and 40 questions in Science Test, with a time limit of 180 minutes. A total of 282,812 people will be on duty during AYT. The third and final session, YDT, which will take place at 15:45 on the same day, will have 222,473 candidates taking the exam in English, 5,913 in Arabic, 3,000 in German, 1,206 in French, and 797 in Russian. A total of 36,046 people will be on duty during the final session of the exam, where 80 questions will be asked with a time limit of 120 minutes, and candidates will be given question booklets related to the foreign language they have declared in their application.
YKS will also be held in Zagreb. ÖSYM has decided to hold exams in Croatia for the young national team players in Zagreb for the 18 Under Football Friendship Tournament to be able to take the exam. Within this scope, out of the 23 footballers in the squad, Efe Akman, Halim Ayaz Yükseloğlu, Recep Yalın Dilek, and Eren Paşahan from Galatasaray, Mustafa Emir Akyıldız and Emirhan Arkutcu from Fenerbahçe, Emir Yaşar from Beşiktaş, Kağan Arıcan from Bitexen Antalyaspor, Ege Arslan from Altınordu, and Muhammed Sinan Kaya from EMS Yapı Sivasspor will take the exam in a special room prepared for them in Zagreb.
Candidates will not be admitted to the exam halls after 10:00. Doors will be closed 15 minutes before the exams, and after 10:00, the admission of candidates to the exam hall will be completed. Candidates are required to bring their exam entrance documents and photo ID cards with them when coming to the exam. Candidates without a photo on their ID card are advised to obtain a new photo ID card by visiting the population directorates to avoid any inconvenience. For candidates who lose their ID card or whose ID card does not have a photo or a Turkish ID number, population directorates in the provinces and districts where the exam centers are located will be open on Saturday from 07:00 to 17:00 and on Sunday from 07:00 to 15:30.
