As the days count down to Eid al-Adha, people from Ankara flocked to the sacrificial animal markets. The intensity at Çubuk animal market, one of the largest sacrificial animal markets in Ankara, was captured from the air.
Preparing for Eid al-Adha at full speed in Ankara, the density created by the citizens who arrived at the market from the early hours of the morning was captured from the air with a drone.
Customer Ali Çankaya, who stated that the prices are reasonable, said, ‘Prices are stable at the moment. There has been a relaxation compared to the prices a month ago. Due to not being allowed to slaughter in front of houses, animals are being sold at farms. Therefore, animals are being consumed at farms as well. Çubuk market is the largest animal market in our Central Anatolia Region. Our animal market is blessed, thank God. I bought a sacrificial animal for my friend. We bought it for 85 thousand liras. May God accept it.’
Çubuk Municipality Veterinarian Yalçın Bekir Kılınç stated that they have taken necessary hygiene measures, saying, ‘We allow the entry of animals coming here with health reports, passports, and reports at the entrance and exit controls and road checks. In addition, our citizens who buy sacrificial animals can also check the ear tags. There is a website established by the Ministry of Agriculture for checking the ear tags. By entering that site and querying the ear tags, they can see the necessary information and documents regarding their animals such as age, gender, breed, health status, and vaccines administered. The intensity of our animal bargaining continues. The sacrificial animal movement continues. Our animal market is permanently open throughout the holiday. Starting from next Thursday, and during the holiday, the animal market will be open.’
A seller, stating that the animal market is prosperous and busy, said, ‘Compared to last year, there are more sacrificial animals this year. There is not much increase in our prices. There is a difference of 5-10 thousand liras compared to last year. We are waiting for our customers.
