Mayor of Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality, Fırat Görgel, stated, ‘Construction of 100% of the houses has started, and every month there are completed buildings in progress. Hopefully, next year we will have completed all earthquake houses.’ Under the auspices of Emine Erdoğan, the wife of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the ‘Zero Waste Project’ initiated by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change is continuing at full speed. To raise awareness about the environment, the June 5th World Environment Day celebrated worldwide since 1972 is being commemorated in Turkey within the scope of Turkey’s Environmental Week declared in 2022, with various activities. Events held in 81 provinces will take place at the Capital City National Garden. In this context, Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality has also taken its place with a stand. Hopefully, in a few years, we will have improved our city to much better conditions. While building Kahramanmaraş, we pay attention to it being a more environmentally friendly and cleaner city to live in. We increase our green areas. We have set a goal for ourselves and hopefully we are moving in that direction. We work very seriously as a metropolitan municipality. We provide education for 13 thousand students for the passing of this situation to future generations, and hopefully we will increase this number. We are developing our city with our facilities.’
