The second Turkish Astronaut Tuva Cihangir Atasever’s suborbital flight scheduled for June 8, 2024, is planned to last approximately 1.5 hours. In this flight, the ‘VSS Unity’ suborbital vehicle that will carry Atasever is expected to reach an altitude of about 14 kilometers through a carrier aircraft. Subsequently, the vehicle will ignite its hybrid rocket motor to reach an altitude between 85 kilometers and 90 kilometers. During a microgravity environment of approximately 3 minutes in the suborbital flight of Astronaut Tuva Cihangir Atasever, 7 experiments will be conducted, ranging from biological molecules to genetic analysis, from metabolic changes to suppressive cells, from insulin pen tests to radiation analysis. It is expected that the experiments to be carried out in different disciplines by Atasever will make significant contributions to the research conducted by our scientists.
