Sultanbeyli Municipality Sacrifice Sales and Slaughter Area has been prepared for the Feast of Sacrifice. Sultanbeyli Mayor Ali Tombaş visited the area, chatted with the tradesmen selling sacrificial animals, and gifted them bags containing various items.
One of the largest sacrifice sales and slaughter areas on the Anatolian side, Sultanbeyli Municipality Sacrifice Sales and Slaughter Area, spread over an area of 40 thousand square meters with 320 tents and 5 slaughter units, has been made ready for the Feast of Sacrifice. With the completion of construction and installation works on the site, traders from all over Turkey who will sell sacrificial animals have taken their places. Mayor Ali Tombaş visited the area, chatted with the tradesmen there, and gifted them bags containing gloves, flashlights, overalls, boots, and other items.
Mayor Ali Tombaş stated, ‘As Sultanbeyli Municipality, we have always been on the agenda in Istanbul with our sacrifice area work for years. Here, we provide service to our citizens in an area of 40 thousand square meters with 320 tents. There are bathrooms, cafes, and cleaning areas here. One of the most important things is for the sacrifices to enter our district in a healthy way. Our veterinary department inspects each animal that arrives and follows up on their documents. Sultanbeyli Municipality mobilizes all its resources to ensure that our citizens can buy their sacrifices in a peaceful and safe manner and perform the sacrifice ritual. We have 400 staff working here. We provide services in this area together with all the units of our municipality in terms of cleanliness and comfort. One of the important things after buying a sacrificial animal is the slaughter process. As Sultanbeyli Municipality, we operate 5 units here and carry out between 800 and 1000 animal slaughters per day. Hopefully, especially on the first day of this Feast of Sacrifice, we will have performed over 800 slaughters.’
