A year-end exhibition was opened within the scope of the ‘Lifelong Learning’ program organized by Söke Public Education Center Directorate. The festive event took place in Söke Municipality Square. After a moment of silence and the national anthem, Söke Public Education Center Director Engin Bacaksız provided information about the activities for the 2023-2024 academic year in his speech. Director Engin Bacaksız stated that a total of 645 courses were opened in the institution buildings of the Public Education Center, 9 neighborhood houses belonging to Söke Municipality, and 42 educational institutions, reaching a total of 12,815 students. Director Bacaksız mentioned that a total of 74 courses were offered to 2,373 students to increase employment, 5 courses were provided to 164 students working in the agriculture and livestock sector to improve their qualifications, 11 courses were organized for 41 disabled students for their education, 36 courses were held for 164 students as part of the literacy campaign, 15 courses were organized for 206 inmates in prisons, and 147 courses were offered to 2,541 students for social and sports activities in schools. Additionally, Director Bacaksız highlighted the establishment of 21 folk dance teams from various regions this year and emphasized significant achievements in sports, such as winning 1 World Championship in Karate, 1 National Championship in Billiards, and ranking fifth in Turkey in Volleyball. District Governor Ali Akça congratulated the Public Education Center for its successful activities in his speech, stating that the works of public education reveal the difference between the knowledgeable and the ignorant. He expressed his wish that the participants in the courses would engage in activities that they can benefit from throughout their lives. Following the speeches, activities such as folk dance shows and fashion shows were held, and the exhibition displaying the handicrafts of the center’s students was visited by the participants. The works of the students received admiration. The event was attended by District Governor Ali Akça, Söke Deputy Mayor Yağız Pullukçu, Söke Provincial Director of National Education Cengiz Aydın, as well as other guests and students.
