As part of the World Environment Day activities in Beyoğlu, tree planting and workshop activities were carried out with primary school students at the Baruthane Ecological Neighborhood Garden. Beyoğlu Municipality organized tree planting and workshop activities with primary school students at the Baruthane Ecological Neighborhood Garden within the scope of World Environment Day activities. Approximately 120 students from different schools participated in the event. At the beginning of the program, the importance of World Environment Day was explained to the students by the officials. Following the speeches, the students planted seedlings and trees in the area prepared in the garden. Beyoğlu Deputy Mayor Recep Yamak also attended the program.

“Let’s keep our environment clean for a better world.” Arel Kısakürek, one of the students who participated in the program, emphasized the importance of recycling materials, stating that nature should be kept clean and that garbage should be separated with recycling bins. Ayşe Deniz, while emphasizing the importance of keeping the world clean, stated that they planted seedlings in the program and said, “Let’s keep our environment clean for a better world.”

The works we did here today with all our children aimed to explain the importance of the soil. Our environment is getting very polluted. One of the works we do to prevent environmental pollution is recycling and recovery. The purpose of the program was to instill this awareness and to ensure that the child touches the soil. We are facing a climate crisis. We are experiencing a climate crisis due to excess carbon. Our priority within this crisis frame is to protect the soil. We want our children to see the vegetable garden, to touch the soil. We want them to feel it so that they can take care of the soil.”
