TCDD General Manager Kurt’s Good News to Niğde

Niğde Railway Station and its surroundings will become the attraction center of the city with a new project. TCDD General Manager Veysi Kurt came to Niğde to see TCDD’s planned projects on-site. Kurt announced that they will immediately start the Railway Underpass Project in cooperation with Niğde Municipality and the project to integrate Niğde Railway Station with the city. After inspecting Niğde Railway Station, Veysi Kurt stated in his announcement: ‘Starting from today, we are commencing work together with our municipality to both provide transportation services in the best way possible and to redesign investment areas to potentially become attraction points of the city.’ TCDD General Manager Veysi Kurt, AK Party Niğde Deputy Prof. Dr. Cevahir Uzkurt, Niğde Mayor Emrah Özdemir, and other officials inspected Niğde Railway Station, Ilhanlı Neighborhood Railway Underpass, and Andaval Loading Center construction. General Manager Kurt mentioned that they had discussed many issues related to Niğde when AK Party Niğde Deputy Prof. Dr. Cevahir Uzkurt and Mayor Emrah Özdemir visited him last week. Veysi Kurt said, ‘During this meeting, we promised to come to Niğde with our colleagues. I would like to express our gratitude and thanks to our President, who has always supported our transportation projects, often more than us, especially sharing national and international corridors with the public.’ Mentioning that they have significant projects to preserve the historical heritage of train stations and integrate them with the city to make them more suitable for urban aesthetics, TCDD General Manager Kurt said: ‘Both our President and Minister of Transport and Infrastructure have given us instructions in this regard. We are in Niğde today to develop and enrich this vision together with our mayor and deputies. We are starting to work together with our municipality from today to redesign Niğde Railway Station to both provide transportation services in the best way possible and to redesign investment areas to potentially become attraction points of the city.’ Kurt also mentioned their involvement in the project to expand and modernize the railway underpass connecting Niğde city center to Ilhanlı Neighborhood and Intercity Bus Terminal, stating: ‘We will contribute to making this place an art structure that befits our city as much as possible and will be presented to our people altogether. Niğde plays a crucial role, especially in terms of mineral exports, and there are goals and visions to carry out these duties mainly through railways. As a project of the support our government has been providing for years, we are continuing our Phase 1 work at Andaval Loading Center to achieve these goals and visions.’ Niğde Mayor Emrah Özdemir thanked TCDD General Manager Veysi Kurt for their support regarding the ongoing and planned projects in Niğde. Mayor Özdemir also announced that they are preparing for a unique project that will enrich Niğde with its historical structure, registered buildings, and green areas, stating: ‘With the new project we will bring to Niğde’s economy, we are initiating these efforts with new projects that will add value to our city.’
