Successful swimmer Emine brought a gold medal from Baku to Denizli

Turkic States Organization Swimming Project for Everyone Final Competition, Denizli’s Emine Doğa Aktaş, representing Turkey, won a gold medal in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.

The finals of the Swimming Project for Everyone, initiated by the Turkic States Organization, were completed in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, with the participation of athletes from 8 countries. The project, which started in April, saw athletes who achieved the best results in their countries go through qualifiers to secure a spot in the finals. 20 athletes represented Turkey in the final competition held at the Baku Aquatics Palace on 01-04 June.

Athletes from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Hungary, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Northern Cyprus participated in the races, which witnessed a fierce competition. Competing in their respective categories, the athletes swam for 30 minutes trying to cover the best distance. Emine Doğa Aktaş from Denizli, representing our country in the age category of 11-13, achieved a significant success by winning a gold medal.

After winning the gold medal, the young athlete Emine Doğa Aktaş shared her feelings, stating that she felt honored to represent our country in such a meaningful Turkic States event. Regarding her gold medal in the competition, she thanked her coaches Yusuf Başar and Çiğdem Ekmekçi who believed in her, her family who always supported her, and her friends.

Youth and Sports Provincial Director Ömer İlman congratulated the golden girl of swimming, Emine Doğa Aktaş. Mentioning that the Swimming Project for Everyone of the Turkic States Organization aims not only to be a sports project but also to develop unity, solidarity, and cooperation among the Turkish Republics, İlman stated that Emine Doğa Aktaş, who succeeded in participating in the finals in Baku from Denizli, is one of the star athletes that Denizli has brought to Turkish sports recently. İlman expressed that Emine Doğa Aktaş, who won the gold medal, is improving her performance day by day and congratulated coaches Yusuf Başar, Çiğdem Ekmekçi, and the successful athlete for their success.
